Where to list an MCP server, and what makes a listing work
MCP servers are now spread across the official registry, community directories and client marketplaces. Developers rarely search all of them, so the servers that get used are the ones that are easy to understand at a glance: a clear name, one sentence on what the AI can do with it, the clients it supports and a command that works on the first try.
Write your summary around the job, not the protocol. "Query and manage Postgres from any MCP client" tells a reader more than "Postgres MCP integration". List the tools the server exposes by name, say whether it runs locally over stdio or remotely over Streamable HTTP, and mention the authentication it needs. Those are the details people check before they add a server to their config.
Once your server is live here, link to the listing from your README. It gives readers a reviewed page to share and helps search engines connect your project to the people looking for it.
FAQ
Is it free to submit an MCP server?
Yes. Every server that passes review gets a free listing. Optional Verified and Featured plans add a badge and more visibility, but never change the review.
What do you need to list my server?
A public repository or homepage, a short description, the tools it exposes, the transport it uses and at least one client it works with. An install command helps readers start quickly.
Which MCP clients do you cover?
Any client that speaks MCP, including Claude Desktop, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Zed and Cline.
How long does the review take?
Most servers are reviewed within five business days. Your tracking key shows each step, from pending to live.
Do you accept remote MCP servers?
Yes. Local stdio servers and remote servers over Streamable HTTP are both welcome; just say which transports you support.
